The former main post office on the Coolsingel is defined by its massive stone facade and an interior featuring a Great Hall with vaults rising twenty-two and a half meters high. Designed by architect Gustav Cornelis Bremer and built between nineteen fifteen and nineteen twenty-three, the building was created to project a sense of civic permanence during a period of rapid urban development in Rotterdam.
