The Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen rises above the Museumpark as a wide, rounded structure covered in one thousand, six hundred and sixty-four reflective glass panels. These mirrors capture the clouds, the surrounding trees, and the city skyline, making the building appear to dissolve into its environment. Opened in twenty twenty-one, this is the world's first fully accessible art storage facility. While most museums keep the vast majority of their collections tucked away in closed basements, this building puts the entire collection of more than one hundred and fifty-five thousand objects on display for the public to see.
