The CaixaForum Palma is identifiable by its ornate facade of wrought iron and polychromatic ceramic tiles, a distinct example of the Modernist style in Mallorca. The building was designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and opened in nineteen oh three as the Gran Hotel, which served as the city’s first luxury hotel.
