Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani de Palma is defined by the pale concrete and glass of a modern museum building set directly into the thick, angular sandstone walls of a sixteenth-century military fortress. This site on the bastion of Sant Pere once served as a primary defensive position for the city of Palma, and today it houses a collection of more than nine hundred works of modern and contemporary art.
