Avrupa Pasajı, or the European Arcade, is defined by the sculpted figures of mythological figures that crown its facade and its long, glass-covered corridor. Built in eighteen seventy-four following the great Beyoğlu fire of eighteen seventy, this Neo-Renaissance structure connects Meşrutiyet Avenue and Sahne Street. The merchant Onnik Düz commissioned the architect Domenico Pulgher to design the arcade, intended to mirror the elegant shopping galleries of Paris.
