Neve Shalom Synagogue

Neve Shalom Synagogue is recognizable by its prominent central dome and an interior dominated by an ornate, massive chandelier. Opened on March twenty-fifth, nineteen fifty-one, the building was constructed on the former site of the First Coed Jewish Primary School to accommodate a Jewish population in the Galata and Beyoğlu districts that had outgrown its existing synagogues. Two young architects, Elyo Ventura and Bernar Motola, designed the structure after convincing community leaders that their passion for the project would produce a unique sanctuary.
