The Halep Pasajı is recognizable by its ornate, Neoclassical front facade on Istiklal Caddesi, featuring a symmetrical design with a prominent second-story cumba—a projecting bay window—topped by a French balcony. Built in eighteen eighty-five by M. Hacar, a businessman from Aleppo, the structure originally housed commercial offices, musical instrument shops, and an Italian court.
