The Chrystal Macmillan Building sits on the northwest corner of George Square. It is distinguished by its role as the primary home of the School of Social and Political Science, a center for interdisciplinary research at the University of Edinburgh. While many buildings in this square bear the names of men from the eighteenth century, this structure was renamed in two thousand eight following a campaign led by staff and students.
