Olvera Street is a narrow, tree-shaded, brick-lined pedestrian passage filled with colorful stalls and historic structures. It sits near the Plaza de Los Ángeles, the oldest plaza in California, and leads from that square toward Cesar Chavez Avenue. The street is part of the El Pueblo de Los Ángeles Historical Monument and contains twenty-seven historic buildings, including the eighteen-eighteen Avila Adobe, which is the oldest standing residence in the city.
