Angels Flight Railway

Angels Flight Railway is recognizable by its two bright vermilion cars, Sinai and Olivet, that travel in opposite directions along a steep, narrow-gauge track. This funicular climbs a thirty-three percent grade for about three hundred fifteen feet, connecting Hill Street with the upper level of Bunker Hill. It first opened on New Year’s Eve in nineteen oh one to serve as a practical transit link for residents of what was then an exclusive neighborhood on the hill.
