Chinatown Gateway Monument

The Chinatown Gateway Monument, often called the Dragon Gate, spans North Broadway just north of Cesar E. Chavez Avenue. You can identify it by the two large, gold-painted dragons that arch above the street, their bodies suspended over the roadway. Between these dragons, an opaque, pearl-like sphere floats on a steel bracket. The structure rests on eight steel pipes and incorporates an aluminum mesh meant to evoke the appearance of clouds.
