The Walt Disney Concert Hall is unmistakable for its sweeping, exterior curves covered in over six thousand gleaming stainless steel panels, which rise above the surrounding city like a set of silver sails. Located on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles, this building is the permanent home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. It began with a fifty-million-dollar gift from Lillian Disney in nineteen eighty-seven, intended to create a dedicated space for music to honor her late husband, Walt.
