Bank of Italy Building (San Francisco)

The Bank of Italy Building at five hundred fifty Montgomery Street is marked by a facade of granite on its lower level, contrasting with the terra-cotta used for its upper floors. This eight-story structure opened in nineteen oh eight to serve as the headquarters for A. P. Giannini’s Bank of Italy, an institution that would eventually grow into the Bank of America.
