Golden Gate Theatre

The Golden Gate Theatre is defined by an auditorium designed to mimic an open-air space, creating the impression of sitting beneath a blue sky rather than inside a roofed building. Built in nineteen twenty-two and designed by G. Albert Lansburgh, the theater originally functioned as a premier vaudeville house for the Radio-Keith-Orpheum circuit. During those early decades, the stage hosted performers ranging from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland to the Marx Brothers and Louis Armstrong.
