Orpheum Theatre

The Orpheum Theatre stands out on Market Street with its striking facade designed to resemble a twelfth-century French cathedral. Built in nineteen twenty-six and originally named the Pantages Theatre, this structure remains one of the few surviving grand movie palaces that once lined the city's central corridor. Its intricate stone exterior, classified as Plateresque or Late Spanish Gothic Revival, was the work of architect B. Marcus Priteca.
