Italian American Bank

The Italian American Bank at four hundred sixty Montgomery Street stands out for its two-story granite facade, featuring classical columns that evoke a traditional banking temple. Built in nineteen oh seven, this structure replaced a bank destroyed during the nineteen oh six earthquake and fire. Designed by the architect John Galen Howard, the building was created as a symbol of the neighborhood's rapid reconstruction efforts.
