Tin Angel (San Francisco)

The Tin Angel once operated at nine eighty-one Embarcadero, in a converted warehouse near the intersection with Greenwich Street. Between nineteen fifty-three and nineteen sixty-one, this venue functioned as a restaurant and a destination for jazz and folk music. The interior was filled with a collection of global curiosities gathered by its owner, Peggy Tolk-Watkins, an artist and entrepreneur who often drove a nineteen thirty-two Ford painted with pink and blue polka dots.
