Sentro Filipino: The San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center

Sentro Filipino occupies space inside the historic Bulletin Building at eight hundred fourteen Mission Street. The center is identifiable by a carved wooden figure known as a bulul, which sits in a concrete shadow box on the first floor facing the street. This figure, traditionally used to guard rice fields, stands as a prominent feature of the interior, which emphasizes an industrial aesthetic with exposed beams and weight-bearing posts.
