Park Central South Beach

The Park Central Hotel stands on Ocean Drive as a signature example of Streamline Moderne architecture, recognizable by its bright blue paint and bold, symmetrical facade. Completed in nineteen thirty-seven, the building was designed by architect Henry Hohauser to embody the optimism and speed of the machine age. Its vertical spine and stepped geometric lines were intended to convey a sense of motion, making it a focal point along the coastline during the city’s early twentieth-century boom.
