The Colony Hotel is defined by its vertical neon sign and a facade marked by sea-blue lines against a white, three-story exterior. Located at seven thirty-six Ocean Drive, this building was designed by architect Henry Hohauser and opened in nineteen thirty-five. It arrived as part of a wave of construction that sought to revive Miami Beach following the devastating hurricane of nineteen twenty-six.
