Colony Theatre

The Colony Theatre at one thousand forty Lincoln Road is a striking example of Art Deco design, defined by the clean lines and geometric motifs that mark Miami Beach's historic architecture. When it first opened its doors on January twenty-fifth, nineteen thirty-five, the venue was built by Paramount Pictures as a movie house. At the time, locals often referred to the theater as the Beauty Queen. Its opening was a major event, attended by movie stars like Carole Lombard.
