The King Center

The King Center is identified by the reflecting pool and the marble sarcophagus where Martin Luther King Junior and Coretta Scott King are interred. Located on Auburn Avenue, this site originated in the weeks following the nineteen sixty-eight assassination of Dr. King. His widow, Coretta Scott King, founded the organization to serve as a living memorial dedicated to the philosophy of nonviolent social change.
