Prudential Plaza is a complex of two towers at one hundred thirty East Randolph Street, instantly recognizable by the limestone vertical strips and ridged aluminum of the forty-one-story original structure, completed in nineteen fifty-five. It stands directly over the Illinois Central Railroad tracks, utilizing air rights that required architects to place supporting columns between the active rail lines below.
