Chagall's Four Seasons

The Four Seasons is a monumental mosaic structure, seventy feet long and fourteen feet high, wrapped in thousands of glass and stone tiles in over two hundred and fifty colors. Located in the Chase Tower Plaza, the artwork depicts six scenes of Chicago alongside recurring motifs from the artist’s life, such as birds, fish, suns, and pairs of lovers. Marc Chagall designed the work in France, where he created the models that were later transferred onto one hundred and twenty-eight individual concrete panels for assembly in Chicago.
