Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is anchored by a prominent facade featuring Corinthian colonnades that rise sixty-five feet above the street. Completed in nineteen twenty-two, this seventeen-story Beaux-Arts building serves as the headquarters for the Seventh Federal Reserve District, one of twelve regional banks within the United States central banking system. The architectural firm Graham, Anderson, Probst and White designed the structure to project stability and authority, incorporating what was at the time one of the largest bank vaults in the country.
