Palmer House a Hilton Hotel

other

The Palmer House is defined by a two-story lobby featuring vaulted ceilings, garnet-draped chandeliers, and twenty-one frescoes by French painter Louis Pierre Rigal. This building is the third hotel to bear the name in Chicago. The original opened in eighteen seventy-one as a wedding gift from businessman Potter Palmer to his wife, Bertha, but it burned down just thirteen days later in the Great Chicago Fire.
