The Trump International Hotel and Tower rises ninety-eight stories above the north bank of the Chicago River, its shimmering stainless steel and glass facade marked by three distinct horizontal setbacks. Designed by the firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the tower was built between two thousand five and two thousand nine on the former site of the Chicago Sun-Times building. Its form is shaped to echo the heights and lines of nearby structures, with each setback aligning with the rooflines of the neighboring Wrigley Building, Marina City, and the building at three hundred thirty North Wabash Avenue.
