Hill House operates out of a former Colonial Revival firehouse at one hundred twenty-seven Mount Vernon Street. Originally built in nineteen forty-nine as the station for Engine Number Ten, the building was later used as a filming location for the television series The Real World in nineteen ninety-seven. Following a donation by former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, the structure was renovated to house community programs and officially reopened for these new purposes in two thousand one.
