Regina Pizzeria is recognized by the prominent blade sign hanging above the street at eleven and a half Thacher Street. Opened in nineteen twenty-six by Luigi D'Auria, a recent immigrant from Campania, Italy, it holds the distinction of being Boston's oldest pizzeria. The building itself dates back to eighteen eighty-six and was originally constructed as tenement housing for the Boston Cooperative Building Company.
