The forty-foot neon cowboy known as Vegas Vic watches over Fremont Street from his position at number twenty-five East Fremont. Identified by his giant red bandana, western hat, and yellow shirt, the figure represents a departure from the text-based signage that dominated the city before his installation in nineteen fifty-one. Built by the Young Electric Sign Company for the Pioneer Club, Vic moved away from simple advertisements toward a welcoming, human form.
