The San Antonio Museum of Art is identifiable by the two massive, buff-colored brick towers that rise above the banks of the San Antonio River. These structures are the remains of the historic Lone Star Brewery, which operated on this site beginning in the late nineteenth century. The brewery complex was transformed into a museum following a major renovation and opened to the public in March nineteen eighty-one.
