Spanish Governor's Palace

The Spanish Governor’s Palace is a low, flat-roofed stone building in downtown San Antonio, easily identified by the royal coat of arms carved into the keystone above its front entrance. Built in the mid-eighteenth century, the structure is the last remaining trace of the Presidio San Antonio de Béxar, a colonial military fort established to protect Spanish missions in the region.
