The Sartor House features soft caliche block walls that are stuccoed to imitate ashlar masonry, a technique involving protruding mortar joints often called conceit construction. Built in eighteen eighty-one, this home stands in the King William historic district and was designed by the prominent San Antonio architect Alfred Giles for Alexander Sartor, a German immigrant and jeweler. The structure displays a wide front porch with Italianate detailing and five large windows that open onto a deep frame veranda.
