Majestic Theatre

The Majestic Theatre is defined by a towering, seventy-six-foot vertical sign topped by a mechanical peacock that struts as a ball rotates beneath its feet. Opened on June fourteenth, nineteen twenty-nine, it was designed by architect John Eberson as an atmospheric movie palace. These theaters were built to mimic outdoor settings, and the Majestic features a ceiling painted to resemble a night sky, complete with twinkling stars and drifting clouds, designed to make patrons feel as though they are sitting in a Spanish village courtyard.
