Ancienne Belgique

cultural

The Ancienne Belgique, often called the AB, sits on Boulevard Anspach as a prominent concert hall for contemporary music. Its name, French for Old Belgium, dates back to nineteen thirty-one when businessman Georges Mathonet took over the site to host touring acts. The location has a long history, previously serving as a banquet hall for the Meerslieden, a guild of overseas merchants, with a commemorative stone from seventeen eighty-one still marking its heritage.
