National Bank of Belgium

The National Bank of Belgium is defined by its massive, two-hundred-meter-long Modernist headquarters, characterized by a long, regular colonnade that stretches along the street. Built between nineteen forty-eight and nineteen fifty-eight, this monumental complex features rotundas at its ends, each topped by bronze statues of women. One end displays a seated woman sculpted by Georges Grard, while the other features a kneeling girl by Charles Leplae, which has since become a symbol of the institution.
