Café Vlissinghe sits in the Sint-Anna district, identifiable by a narrow passage that leads up a short flight of stone steps. It has operated at this location since fifteen fifteen, earning its reputation as the oldest tavern in Bruges. While the business is ancient, much of the interior took its current form during the nineteenth century.
