The Parc de l'Orangerie spans twenty-six hectares and is recognized by the free-roaming white storks that nest in its trees and atop the roof of its central structure. As the oldest and largest park in Strasbourg, it serves as a central green space for the city, positioned across from the Palais de l'Europe.
