The Hôtel de Ville of Charenton-le-Pont is anchored by a three-story brick pavilion that stands out for its seventeenth-century architecture, featuring a symmetrical facade and stone finishings reminiscent of the Place des Vosges in Paris. Originally commissioned as a private residence by Nicolas de Verdun, the president of the Parlement of Paris, this pavilion was completed in sixteen twelve. It is the oldest remaining structure in the city.
