The Pavillon Vendôme is a seventeenth-century residence marked by its classic French architecture and a carved stone gateway. Originally built for a Parisian banker, the house was purchased in the late seventeenth century by Philippe de Vendôme, a cousin of King Louis XIV, to serve as a private retreat for his companion, the dancer Françoise Moreau. The building retains a salon with a ceiling painted by Claude III Audran, one of the few works by the artist still surviving in France.
