The facade of La Maison Jaune rises six stories high, covered in a vibrant yellow paint that separates it from the neighboring architecture. This mural is a trompe l’oeil, an art form intended to deceive the eye with its realistic depiction of eighteen windows and three street-level doors. Completed in September two thousand three, it was designed by the firm Nouvel Aspect and realized by the artist André Pistun to enliven a previously plain, windowless wall.
