The Espace d'accueil of the Tour aux figures is located within the nineteenth-century Grande Halle in the Parc départemental de l'Île Saint-Germain. This space serves as an orientation point for visitors interested in the monumental tower nearby, a twenty-four-meter-tall sculpture designed by the artist Jean Dubuffet. The tower, which features an intricate, labyrinthine interior known as the Gastrovolve, was a project Dubuffet originally conceived in nineteen sixty-seven. Although he dreamt of seeing it built in New York, the structure was eventually commissioned by the French state in nineteen eighty-three and inaugurated in nineteen eighty-eight, shortly after the artist's death.
