The Fontaine de l'ancien château is marked by a basin of distinct shape, built into a wall featuring three carved niches. It stands as a surviving fragment of the once-expansive gardens of the Château d'Issy, an aristocratic estate designed in the seventeenth century. While the main residence was destroyed by fire during the Paris Commune in eighteen seventy-one, this water feature remains within what is now the Parc Henri Barbusse.
