The French Playing Card Museum

museum

The French Playing Card Museum in Issy-les-Moulineaux occupies a distinct site where a contemporary building connects to a historic gatehouse pavilion, once part of the estate belonging to the princes of Conti. This museum is the only institution in France dedicated entirely to the history and craft of playing cards. Its collection began in nineteen thirty with a donation to the city, and it has since grown to hold over eleven thousand items, ranging from fifteen-century tarot decks to modern sets from around the world.
