The Théâtre Artistic Athévains sits at forty-five bis rue Richard-Lenoir, a narrow, unassuming building that has held a shifting variety of roles for over a century. What began as a local café-concert in the early nineteen-hundreds transformed into the Folies Artistic by nineteen-thirteen, hosting vaudeville and operettas for the neighborhood.
