May-Picqueray Garden

The May-Picqueray Garden is a long, thin green space set directly into the center of the Boulevard Richard-Lenoir. This boulevard follows the path of a canal that was covered over in eighteen sixty, and the garden is built atop the vaulted structure that still encloses the water below. Its layout is part of a larger, repurposed promenade that stretches through the neighborhood, marked by trees and smaller planting areas designed to evoke the presence of the canal hidden beneath the ground.
