Square Maurice Gardette

Square Maurice Gardette occupies a rectangular space in the eleventh arrondissement, easily identified by the wrought-iron bandstand at its center that dates back to eighteen ninety-nine. The grounds once held the Ménilmontant slaughterhouses, which were demolished in eighteen sixty-seven. By eighteen seventy-two, the site was opened to the public as a green space, originally under the name Square Parmentier.
