The Jardin Atlantique is a three-point-four hectare public park suspended seventeen meters above the street, covering the tracks and platforms of the Gare Montparnasse. It remains hidden from ground level, framed by towering office buildings and reachable only by stairs or elevators from the station and surrounding streets. Completed in nineteen ninety-four, it required complex engineering to support the weight of five hundred trees and integrate over one hundred station air vents into the garden design.
