Square Barye

Square Barye occupies the extreme eastern point of Île Saint-Louis, forming a distinct triangular shape that mirrors the prow of a ship jutting into the Seine. The garden sits on land that once hosted the expansive grounds of the seventeenth-century Hôtel de Bretonvilliers, which stood until its demolition in the nineteenth century. Today, the park provides a quiet, green space defined by its curved walking paths and a diverse collection of trees, including Lebanese cedars and Chinese golden rain trees.
