Bal Bullier

The Bal Bullier once stood at thirty-one Avenue de l'Observatoire, a location now occupied by the Centre Sportif Universitaire Jean Sarrailh. You can identify the site by its modern role as a student athletic center, which replaced the grand ballroom that served as a fixture of Parisian nightlife for nearly a century. François Bullier purchased the original dance hall in eighteen forty-three and transformed it into a sprawling garden and ballroom filled with lilac trees and, eventually, oriental-style decor.
